Why You Should Purchase Costco Tires
There are a few good reasons why you should
seriously consider buying Costco tires.
When it comes to membership warehouses, Costco is the #1 club
in the USA. In 2009 it was already the 3rd largest retailer in
America and it was the 9th largest internationally. The very
first warehouse was opened in Seattle in 1983 and was founded
by Jeffrey Brotman and James Sinegl. Its headquarters are
located in Issaquah, Washington.
You can buy your Costco tires at affordable
prices and when you compare installation and tire disposal,
their slightly higher rates are well worth it to get the whole
job done at once. You can compare prices by checking out
TireRack.com but you will soon discover that Costco tires
prices are not that much higher than any retail tire store. This is an important fact
Why Buy Costco
tires
Nitrogen- Yes it’s true, Costco tires are
filled up with nitrogen and that makes for a more dependable
fill up. Nitrogen molecules are larger than those of Oxygen so
that means you will have fewer stops at the air pump to refill
your tires. When you make your Costco tires purchase you will
get the nitrogen fill-up for free. There are a lot of
advantages to using nitrogen and one of them is the ability to
keep the tires cooler as your speeding down the freeway. The
air we breathe is already 78% Nitrogen, so if it’s good enough
for us, it must be good enough for our cars.
Two Brand Sales Only- If you plan on
shopping for then you should also know there are only 2 brands
available to you and they are Michelin and BF Goodrich. The
Michelin Club Tires are exclusive to Costco so there is no way
to compare their prices to other vendors but you can compare
their tires to something that is similar with another brand
name. It is still a better deal than having to worry about all
of the added fees when you go to other retailers to buy your
tires.
Lifetime Warranty- The warranty may be
somewhat tricky to understand since it is a pro-rated warranty.
That basically means any part of the warranty that you have
used gets discounted off the final price. If you have a 100,000
mile set of Costco tires and blow one when it only has 50,000
miles on it then half of your warranty is used and you will pay
the difference. For tires this is not an unusual practice so
you will see this type of warranty in many other stores as
well. If you have a flat tire and need a simple repair you must
take the car to Costco if you want the free repair, if you
choose to take the tire somewhere else you will not be
reimbursed the cost of the repair.
Rotation- You will get free tire rotation
and balancing for free so that is a great value. This is a $40
value in most tire retail outlet. You get yours for free
when you buy Costco tires.
